New Easier to Understand Notice of Assessment Format

Well at least the ATO is on the right track – they have FINALLY updated their notice of assessment format so it makes (slightly) more sense.

I mean anyone could have told you that the previous ones make no sense at all (even trained accountants have difficulty!)

I am a bit EXCITED (as anything that makes it easier for people to understand tax makes me happy).

From February 2010 the new assessments will start to issue (so you will get one when you lodge your 2010 tax return if you have already lodged 2009).

Also – make sure you keep/scan/photocopy your notice of assessment as you will need it –e.g. for next years e-tax or sometimes in dealing with the tax office.
